The AVSL season runs from October to March, offering a variety of track and field events for athletes of all levels. Events usually take place on Saturdays.
Leagues and Divisions: Like the winter season, AVSL uses a league format. SMAC currently competes in the 5th division.
Juniors, Masters, and Open: There are competitions for juniors, open divisions, and masters athletes (40+, 50+, 60+).
How Scoring Works:
- You can enter as many events as you’d like.
- Your best 3 scores contribute to the club’s overall points.
- The system handles scoring, grading, and team allocations – just focus on competing!
Club Involvement
Though the club currently doesn’t offer coaching for track and field, coaching for running is available through our affiliate groups, the Crosbie Crew and Spicer Track Club (more info here). Unfortunately, we currently don’t provide training for field events.
Additionally, we’re able and happy to provide recommendations for the best events each week, often aligning with our junior members’ participation.
How to Participate
Flexibility: You choose how many meets you want to attend.
Registration: Register online with Athletics Victoria by Wednesday at noon before each Saturday event.
